I live in an apartment in Metairie, Louisiana and my range does not work. My two front burners spark when in use and my oven does not shut off even when the knob is in the off position and the red light indicating the stove is cold is off. I've called my apartment and they have refused to come out and fix it properly.Maintenance replaced the front burners but also told me to keep the breaker off when I'm not using it. The oven has yet to be fixed. I've gone the entire month without a stove and have refused to pay my rent for this month (this is the 4th major maintence issue i have had at this apartment they has gone a while without being fixed. My sink leaked heavly for 8 months, my dishwasher was not installed for 2 weeks, I had a bug infestation from the sink they refused to fix along to mold and water rot that was never fixed) I am going to court tomorrow to plead my case. I do not feel I should have to pay rent in an apartment that is not up to fire code and is a fire hazard. I'm hoping someone can provide me with information i can use in my case tomorrow! Thanks!!...
